Difficulty in making calls, network congestion, and delays in text messages in the UK on 2 Feb 2009 were a consequence of the heavy snow that fell. T-Mobile saw 73% more calls, 21% more texts on the day. 'A spokesman from mobile network 3 said: "We've seen a very steep jump in the number of picture messages sent across the network as snowmen make an all too rare appearance in gardens across the country."'
