SMS: not peaked yet.


Mobile Weblog reports on research from Informa Telecoms & Media: "Despite the popularity of SMS or text messaging particularly among the younger generation, its revenue potential for mobile operators is not fully maximized".


"If the subscriber is able to use SMS to interact with their device in a more efficient, more enjoyable or more productive way, then they will be willing to pay a small additional fee for those SMS messages". The value put on this is a lost 3.6bn Euros annually.

Mobile advertising grows.



"AdMob, the world's largest mobile advertising marketplace, announced today that it has served more than five billion targeted ads since its launch in December 2006". The report continues, at PhoneContent.com with data on the top countries and handsets being served adverts.

Sybase: "the Future Is Mobile"



eWeek have posted an interviewwith Cybase CEO, John Chen. "So anything that moves along creating more mobile apps for business [is interesting to Sybase]. You need to subdivide in verticals--there are financial, health care, transportation, logistics people, government sector, a whole bunch of them. So what we are looking to do is really enrich a development platform."
